Peer-Group Questions
Is Badger Support Network (BSN) "Group Therapy"?
No, but those who have participated peer group sessions often describe it as therapeutic. BSN is a safe, community peer-led space.Â
Badger Support Network is dedicated to helping address and promote mental health and well-being on our campus through peer support to UW-Madison students. Peer-Faciliators are trained and advised by University Health Services, however, student facilitators are not trained professionals.Â
Is BSN only for UW-Madison Students?
Yes. Peer Groups are a resources for students at UW-Madison, we are open to undergraduates, graduates, professional students, and all student identity groups. Â
Does BSN require me to join the peer group that matches my specific identity?
No, BSN does not require you to join the peer group that matches your specific identity. We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging for all students, and you are welcome to join any group that you feel comfortable with. See our commitment to Equity & Belonging.
Are weekly group only for students with mental illness?
No, our weekly group is designed for all students. We aim to foster a supportive culture that promotes the mental health and well-being of everyone. At BSN, you will find support for any struggles you may face, regardless of their significance.
How many students are usually in a specific Weekly Group?
Weekly groups usually consist of 6-10 students
When and where do Weekly Groups meet? Â
BSN's peer-groups tries to meet it's fellow Badgers where they are, participants can select a time and place that works best with their schedule.  Â
We currently offer Weekly Groups on Central Campus, Monday through Thursday, in 1-hour time slots from 4-9pm each day. A hybrid, virtual, in-person options are offered on our sign up page, here.Â

What is Badger Support Network's offiical email?Â
Our primary email is bsndirectors@gmail.com, communications may also be sent to our forwarder @bsnwisco.org. Directors & Peer Leaders may use their personal wisc emails for communications.Â
How is being a Peer Leader or Director?Â
Weekly Groups are led by University of Wisconsin students. Â After an application and interview process, these students undergo a holistic health and well-being training by various resources to create a space and dialogue that is consistently inviting, inclusive and engaging.Â

Consequently, we are generally unable to offer returns or size exchanges, except in cases where the item is misprinted, damaged, or defective.
