The Mission of Badger Support Network BSN is to create a resilient community that supports each other's identity, mental health and well-being, and day-to-day lives. Our goal more broadly is to reduce the harsh social stigmas, financial burdens, and timing inconveniences that have long been used to hinder discussing topics related to our health and well-being.
Peer-Facilitated Groups
The Peer Leaders of Badger Support Network receive training from the University Health Services and Mental Health Services at the UW-Madison. Peer Groups are regular, in-person or virtual. Some groups are tailored to specific identity groups.
Peer Groups are designed to provide an accessible, inclusive, and confidential environment where students are encouraged to openly share their thoughts and experiences. Leaders are equipped to foster an atmosphere conducive to meaningful, honest, and personal dialogue, characterized by empathy, respect, and complete safety.
